This body of work is an amalgamation of various creative disciplines including design, illustration, typography and composition in homage to the wonderful and imaginative covers of various comic and pulp magazines of the past. Sadly, these old publications and the artists that created them have disappeared as did the newsstands and candy stores that displayed them.
My goal is to keep the passion of this art form alive by shifting from the publishing and commercial categories to a fine art designation. Each piece is conceived from pure imagination. The medium is oil paint. Each piece is 24" x 36" and painted on board. Most of the paintings include an original trademark symbol "100% AI Free". This too, is a nod to all organic artists who create their work without the use of artificial intelligence.
